- Pat Hughes - Drums, Vocals
The fact that he was playing the entire Nosferatu album, which he released in 1979 with Robert Williams was the main reason I was here. I was also looking forward to hear those Stranglers choice cuts and solo delicacies
Hugh and the band were superb.
This was my first time seeing Hugh perform solo, and he certainly didn’t disappoint. Nosferatu was spot on, and the whole gig was excellent from start to finish. It was great to finally hear the album performed live, alongside a selection of songs from Hugh's Stranglers and solo career.
If I had one small criticism, it was that I would have liked a little more banter during the second half of the gig. But I guess these days there’s nobody spitting at him or calling him a “wanker” to get him riled up.
Audiences in 2026 are obviously far more sophisticated than they were back in 1976 - Or perhaps we're all just too old now!
Anyhow, thank you Mr Cornwell and band for a brilliant night.
